What does SSL mean?

SSL-certificate types
DV, or Domain Validation SSL certificates only verify domain ownership. A DV-level SSL certificate is often sufficient if you only need HTTPS-secured traffic for your website
OV, or Organization Validation SSL certificates verify the existence of an organization. Use an OV-level SSL certificate, for example, for web services that request user login credentials or other form data
EV, or Extended Validation With SSL certificates, the certificate authority verifies the organization’s existence, legal compliance, and right to operate the website with particular rigor and in accordance with predetermined issuance criteria. Use EV-level SSL certificates for online services that handle payment information or particularly sensitive data, or if you want to instill a high level of trust in your website visitors.
